Air Lease Corp announced the expansion of its 737 MAX jet acquisition agreement with Boeing. 32 737 MAX 8 and MAX 9 were added to the original order. ALC now has a backlog of 130 737 MAX, including orders placed in February.
Aviation Leasing Corporation (ALC) has placed orders for 50 Boeing 737 MAX, including 32 737 MAX 8 FlyK orders and 18 737 MAX 9s converted from 787 aircraft orders, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2024 and continue until 2026.
"Following the signing of our contract with Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft in February, we are pleased to announce the signing of this definitive purchase agreement for an additional 32 aircraft. We are confident that the economic and operational advantages of the 737 MAX will serve our airline customers," said John L. Pleuger, CEO and President of Air Lease Corporation.
One of the possible new customers for the single-aisle jet family is Delta Air Lines, which could soon complete orders for 100 aircraft.
